Portraits for Peace
صور من أجل السلام
Salam alaikum!
A celebration of Palestinian culture featuring portraits of individuals from diverse nationalities who stand together in support of peace, and fostering unity and understanding.
Through cultural diversity, each photograph expresses the universal desire for harmony, spreading messages of peace and hope to inspire positive change in our world. Portraits for Peace features two photographic pieces: "Little Windows" and "Spread Light."
Little Windows
نوافذ صغيرة
Little Windows a collection of 50 photographs featuring individuals who are based in Te Tau Ihu Aotearoa but originate from over 30 countries, expressing messages of peace and hope in their own languages.
Through these images we call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the violence, while expressing our support for Palestine. Children are our future: they deserve to grow up in peace and need protection, not insecurity and abuse!
This project aims to spread positivity and express solidarity with the Palestinian community and all those affected by conflict. We want them to feel heard and supported, knowing that many people around the world stand with them. It is also an opportunity to appreciate the safety we enjoy in Aotearoa and to connect more deeply with the realities faced by others.
Among the represented nationalities are Brazilian, Israeli, Tongan, Somali, Chilean, Scottish, Pakistani, Omani, Afghan, Uruguayan, Swiss, Palestinian, Irish, New Zealand/Māori, Jordanian, English, German, Peruvian, Indian, North American, French, Belgian, Czech, Bhutanese, Burmese, Nepali, Colombian, Argentinian, and Greek.
